Clean Japanese Cuisine

Japanese cuisine's style is very straight forward and simple but it takes its simplicity from how much the people respect the ingredients used in their food. This could possibly be because of their belief (Shinto) that everything has some kind of god or spirit living within it or watching over it and of course they do not want to disrespect what ever spirit or god is involved but even without those beliefs, they would still be very meticulous with the preparation and presentation of their food because they value hard work. They would not waste the ingredients painstakingly grown and harvested by farmers. We could really learn something from the Japanese. After all, even if the ingredients that we use are not grown by farmers, people still gives an effort to make the food that we eat, be it the field workers, our parents who work hard to put food on our table, or even ourselves when we provide ourselves with nourishment every day.

You may ask, "Japanese food is really simple so why do people appreciate the food so much?" Well, that can be answered by the popular phrases: “elegance in simplicity” and “simplicity is best” these really apply to Japanese cuisine. The food preparation is simple (straight forward) but the way the chefs plate it, using various colored food and ingredients, they become really appealing even with its uncomplicated preparation.
